Dementia and Diabetes - Dr Ashleigh Smith
Dr Ashleigh Smith is a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Exercise Physiology and a research leader in Neuroscience and Dementia. Dementia is the second leading cause of death in Australians and there is currently no cure. Growing evidence suggests that staying physically active into old age may help to slow or prevent the onset of dementia. Dr Smith will present on how exercise and physical activity modifies the brains of older adults at risk of dementia.
